First Impression Entire Look: Honeybee Gardens + Oslo Cosmetics

Honeybee Gardens

Pressed Mineral Foundation in 'Geisha' $7.99 - $10.99
I love the coverage and it doesn't make my face look cakey. I wish the ingredients were a little more natural, but the price for a natural pressed foundation is great!

'Black Magic' Mascara - $7.99 - $11.99
Very natural look - provides length and a little volume without the spidery look. My lashes did harden and feel crispy after it dried, but no flaking. I still like the PF Fake Out mascara more.

'Zen' Lip Liner - $5.79 - $8.99
Love! Love the color, the price, how it feels. Amazing - I'll definitely be getting more.

'Hollywood' Lip Gloss - $7.99 - $11.99
I love the smell and how it feels on the lips. I wish I didn't have to pump so many times to get the product out, though. Great price.

Oslo Cosmetics
Mini = $3.50, Full = $6.00

Since I got the formula without silicones, I do think that greatly effected how the shadows applied. The pigmentation is nice and the colors are gorgeous, but I don't like the fallout and they ended up creasing quite fast. I probably won't repurchase more. They also offer pressed shadows for $8!

Silk Naturals 'Beach Bunny' Bronzer - $6.50
I love it!! Definitely getting the full size.

The 12 Questions of 2012:

1. Which makeup brand stood out to you most in 2012? Drugstore and High End
For "drugstore", I would say The All Natural Face. It's probably my favorite brand of the year - I love how affordable it is and all the choices! I was lucky enough to be able to take a tour of the physical store in MA in December and it was so much fun to see everything in person! I rarely try "high end" makeup, so I have no idea!

2. Best new discovery of 2012?

Hmm probably cream products. The All Natural Face cream blush, which is amazing for the winter, and cream eyeshadows from a bunch of different brands I've been testing. Look out for my 'Cream Shadow Showdown' series! A separate video reviewing each brand's cream eye shadows and a final video with my rankings and thoughts. Using cream eye shadow has made me LOVE doing my eye makeup every day!

3. Best re-discovery -- A product that you fall in love with over and over again?
Zuzu Luxe mascara in Navy - I used it in the beginning and end of the year and I think I will be using it for a LONG while yet. I love how natural it is, the color is perfect for every day, and making my lashes look amazing.

4. Best seasonal product 2012? Winter / Spring / Summer / Fall
I honestly don't switch up my makeup for the seasons, but for the winter and cold weather I will say the cream blushes from the ANF again. They make your skin look dewy and fresh without any powder/dry look! For summer (and all year round) I would say my Sobe Botanicals Oil Control Powder. Holy grail makeup product!

5. Best and worst Limited Edition Collections in 2012? Drugstore and High End
Hmm I don't follow LE collections either, but I really am LOVING the color of the Ice Dance cream shadow by Pumpkin and Poppy for her winter collection called Ice Dance. It is the most amazing purple/blue/white shimmer cream shadow.

6. Most regretted purchase of 2012?

I really didn't buy much makeup in 2012 in general that was a toss-up, usually I just repurchase from companies I know I love. Most regretted purchase would probably be my Jane Iredale Active Light Concealer (my review link)

7. Youtube and beauty highlights 2012?

Youtube highlights would definitely be making and getting to know more amazing girls this year. Jen and ALL the amazing beauty bloggers I've met later in the year have made what I do SO much more fun.
Beauty highlights would be that I started using (and LOVING) bronzer. I love that I can slim my face down with it. I think it really took just finding the right shade that wasn't too orange for me.

8. What is your favorite / best video on your own channel?

I am very proud of my 'Going Natural Doesn't Have to be Expensive' video and all of the helpful information in that video. All of my piercing updates this year have been quite eventful as well. Another one of my favorites was my Holiday Giveaway video for this year because I absolutely LOVED the responses I got.

9. Best recommendation of 2012 from someone else?

Jane Iredale Magic Mitt from Britanie. First impression video. Definitely a revolutionary 'tool' in terms of removing makeup. I'm obsessed!

10. Best makeup tool 2012?

Hmm. Probably the Sedona Lace thicker angled brush for bronzer!

11. What are the products you are excited to try in 2013?

MORE CREAM SHADOWS!! I'm very excited. Also more deodorants, different bronzer shades, and more mineral eye shadow!

12. Will you do a Makeup Collection in 2013, or an updated version?
I just did one about 2 weeks ago! Here is is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej4dVZBkGA0

First Impression: Strawberries and Cream Face Food Cleanser from The All Natural Face

Today I have a first impression post for you! My other most recent first impression is a video on the Jane Iredale Magic Mitt to remove makeup.
Today's first impression is on Strawberries and Cream Face Food Cleanser by The All Natural Face. Crystal, the owner of the ANF, gave me a small 0.5 oz jar to try when I was at the store 2 weeks ago. I'd seen the face food cleanser on the site but didn't think it was something I really needed to try. Basically, the "cleanser" is in a powder form of just dried strawberries and coconut milk and smells absolutely DIVINE. I wanted to eat it (and could have!)

The site says: "Strawberries are useful for oily skin but are suitable for all skin types. Strawberries contain salicylic acid, which rids the skin of dead cells, allowing it to absorb moisture more efficiently. Strawberries also have a mild bleaching effect on the skin and will help heal blemishes".

I mixed some of the powder in a cup with some warm water, and unfortunately I used a little too much. The mixture is pretty thin but covers a large area of the face, and I ended up using half of my 1/2 oz jar. I decided to apply the mixture "mask style" and leave it on for a little bit. I normally wash my face with pure raw honey morning and night, but the night I did the mask (about 2 days ago), I just used my magic mitt to remove makeup and then applied the mask.
I left it on for about 7-10 minutes until I started to feel the burning of the natural salicylic acid. The mixture was easy to rinse off (had to make sure I got the strawberry seeds) and the first thing I noticed was that my face felt SO soft and incredibly moisturized. I have been having very dry skin lately, but the mixture left my skin feeling more moisturized than the honey does, admittedly.

The main spark for this blog post so quickly was the results the next morning - my skin looked fabulous. Granted, I still am breaking out a little but (although much less since using the honey), but my skin wasn't red at all, the skin tone looked more even, and I swear some of my hyperpigmentation was faded already. I made special attention to see if my face looked the same this morning, but it didn't have the same "glow" as it did the morning after I applied the mask.

I highly recommend picking a face food cleanser up and testing it! I don't believe the 0.5 sizes are available online, I do think you'll end up wanting to purchase a larger size anyway ;P

*For the month of February, the 1 oz jars are on sale for only $5 (regularly $7.50)!!!

A 1 oz jar retails for $7.50, 2 oz for $15, and 4 oz for $25. I hope you guys will consider picking up one of the face foods to try! There are so many choices including Pomegranates and Cream, Mangoes and Cream, Lemons and Cream, and more.

Let me know if anyone picks one up!! http://www.theallnaturalface.com/
